The first-year Muggie/Leadership program is designed primarily for campers who have
completed the older-camper program and completed grade 9 in school.  Acceptance
into the first–year program is through a selective process based on a written application
and on the recommendation of the camp staff.

The program includes a comprehensive set of leadership activities including weekly
training sessions in leadership and camp counseling skills.  The program also includes
wilderness skills and leadership training in the Green Mountains, boating on Vermont
lakes and rivers and other outdoor activities.

In-camp training consists of the girls being trained to assist in activities and to work in
camper cabins under the supervision of the cabin staff.  They live with staff whose job
descriptions include the delivery of the leadership program curriculum.
